  1. What event do you think John may be referring to when he states that Jesus loved them to the very end?” (13:1)
  2. What kind of rank or importance do you think one who was sent from God would have?
  3. Do you think the task of washing someone’s feet was typically performed by one of high importance?
  4. Why do you think Peter initially refused to let Jesus wash his feet? (13:8)
  5. Why does Peter eventually embrace letting Jesus wash his feet? (13:8).
